USER GUIDE · CHAPTER 01
Welcome to Kresmion
What Kresmion is, how the guide is organised, and the conventions every page shares (colours, timestamps, sources, signed in vs public).
In this chapter
Kresmion is a source-first market terminal for cross-asset market intelligence. It brings together what is happening across equities, macro and rates, FX, futures and commodities, options, crypto and prediction markets, and where a number has a primary source, it shows you that evidence: the SEC filing, the CFTC report, the central bank release, the on-chain transfer.
We report what happened, with its structural and historical context. We do not tell you what to buy or sell, and nothing in the product is a forecast or a recommendation. When this guide says a reading is "high" or "unusual", it means high or unusual against its own history, nothing more.
Kresmion is free during beta. Most pages need a free account; many reference pages and tools work with no account at all. Each page section in this guide says which.
How this guide is organised
Every page in the product gets its own section, and every section follows the same shape so you always know where to look:
| Block | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Where | The address of the page, the menu path that reaches it (for example Markets › Macro › Liquidity) and its command-bar code when it has one |
| Access | Public (no account) or free account (signed in), and what changes when you sign in |
| What it is for | The question the page answers |
| Reading it | Every panel, column, number, colour and badge, in the order they appear on screen |
| Using it | Every control: tabs, filters, time windows, sorting, search, hover and right click |
| Where clicks go | A table of what you can click and the page it opens |
| Tips | Shortcuts, related pages, and how to find specific things fast |
The chapters follow the top menu:
- Welcome (this chapter): conventions shared by every page.
- Getting around: your account, Home, the menus, the command bar, keyboard shortcuts, boards, split view and settings.
- Equities: the equities desk, the company page and its views, filings, the screener, events, alerts and the public research pages.
- Macro and FX: the regime, calendar, central banks, economics, rates, capital flows, the trade map, FX and the daily briefs.
- Crypto and prediction markets: on-chain whales, exchanges, ETF flows, derivatives, DEX, tokens and odds.
- Futures, commodities, positioning and options: curves, seasonality, inventories, COT, short interest and the options desk.
- Tools: the analysis tools, from rotation and correlation to merger arbitrage and Ask the Data.
- Intelligence: the live feed, OSINT, news, congress and insider trades, and alternative data.
- Your workspace: portfolio, watchlist, evidence boards, documents, sheets, charts and the community.
- Public pages and the API: what anyone can open, the learning library, and the developer surfaces.
- Find it: a task index. Look up what you want to do and jump straight to it.
Tip: On the website each chapter has its own page with a contents column on the left; the PDF has the same text with page numbers. Links inside the guide jump to the right section in both.
Five minutes to your first useful screen
- Create a free account and follow the three onboarding steps: a starter watchlist, your interests, and what you want to be told about (First run).
- Land on Home (Home). It shows the markets you picked, today's daily brief, the latest events and fresh filings on one screen.
- Press Cmd-K (Ctrl-K on Windows and Linux) to open the command bar (Command bar). Type a ticker such as
NVDAto open its company page, or a code such asREGIME,13ForWHALEto jump to a monitor (Function codes). - Open a company and walk its views with the view codes (
FAfor financials,OWNfor ownership and more) (Company page). - Tune your alerts in Settings so the events that matter come to you (Alert settings).
Conventions every page shares
Signed in and public
Most of the product lives behind a free account. Several pages have a public twin: a version anyone can read, often with less history or fewer controls. If you open a signed-in page while signed out, you either see a sign-in panel at the same address or are moved to the public twin, with your filters kept (Opening an app page while signed out, Public and signed-in company pages).
Timestamps and "as of"
Every dataset has its own rhythm: filings arrive through the day, positioning reports weekly, some statistics monthly or quarterly. Panels show an "as of" date or the age of their snapshot, and most numbers and column headers show their window and date on hover. When a number matters, check its date first. Because Kresmion is in beta, a figure can lag its upstream source or be revised by it.
Missing is not zero
A double dash -- (or "no read", "n/a") means we have no value for that cell. It never means zero. A grey 0 means the count really is zero.
Colours mean something
- Green and red describe direction: up or down, positive or negative. They are paired with a sign or a word, so they can be read without colour. Settings › Appearance has colour-vision themes (Appearance).
- Category colours are navigation, not a market reading: each area of the product has its own colour (for example blue for equities, indigo for macro and rates, cyan for FX, amber for commodities, violet for crypto). The same colour marks the menu heading, the panel marker and the links into that area.
- Severity chips (CRIT, HIGH, MED, LOW) rank how large and unusual an event is. See The severity ladder.
- "Positive" and "negative" on an event are the sign its rule gives the underlying change (for example a net purchase or a net sale), not a view on the asset.
Sources
Every page names where its data comes from. The small Sources link at the foot of a page opens the full source and licence text for that page family (Sources links). Primary sources include SEC EDGAR, the CFTC, the Federal Reserve, the ECB, FINRA, public blockchains and public prediction markets.
External reports
Some items are third-party speech: open-source intelligence posts, news headlines, community notes. They keep the source's own words and carry an External report badge. Those words are the source's, not ours, and are shown so you can judge them yourself.
Getting help
- Feedback button: the small button at the edge of every signed-in page sends a note straight to us (Feedback button).
- Support: the /support page, or email inquiry@kresmion.com.
- This guide: always at /guide, with the PDF one click away. The guide is versioned; the version date is on the cover and on the guide's home page.
